Events This Week

This Saturday at 3 PM, DSA organizers will be meeting at the New Orleans Nora Navra Library to meet with individuals interested in labor organizing, learning about labor organizing, and meeting with labor allies in the New Orleans area. Everyone from every experience level is welcome, whether you are newly curious about the labor movement, or you are a seasoned organizer. If you think a labor union is “not for you” or “doesn’t work” in your industry, please come anyway! The organized labor landscape is changing tremendously in the US, and we need everyone to get involved.

Local Convention looms ever closer, and we need to make sure we're ready for it! Join us at this planning meeting to help bring it together.

Local Convention is our chapter's largest event of the year, wherein we review the past year and current state of the chapter, plan the course of the next year, and vote on important business like bylaws amendments and Local Council members. We'll also hear from speakers about various pressing issues including standing up in the face of recent attacks on immigrants, supporting local Palestine solidarity campaigns, and the importance of resisting anti-LGBTQ+ policy -- all while building community with our comrades!

Red Rabbits Working Group will meet to prepare for convention.

This is the monthly meeting of the Local Council, our chapter's elected leadership body. Everyone is welcome to attend these meetings. If you have questions, or want to submit agenda items for consideration by the Local Council, please email hello@dsaneworleans.org.
